SHELTER ROUTINE

Clients are admitted to the Shelter between 17:30 and 18:30. No one is admitted late and once in they may not leave the Shelter.

Clients take a shower and have the opportunity to wash their clothes. New clients will be given clothes if needed. Clothes are also given if needed in an emergency.

Supper is served at 19:00. Nutritious soup and pasta dishes are generally donated by members of the community. A kitchen assistant prepares food as required. Members of the community are welcome to make a dish, or give the ingredients or the finances to buy the ingredients as best suits them. Please contact us if you would like to assist with meals.

After supper clients are expected to help clean the Shelter and then they have the opportunity to watch TV, play games or just relax. The Shelter is quiet by 21:00.

Na aandete word daar van ons kliƫnte verwag om te help om die kombuis op te ruim. Hierna kan hulle ontspan en `n bietjie televisie kyk, speletjies speel, lees of sosialiseer. Om 21:00 is die Nagskuiling stil.

The next morning our clients rise early to have a breakfast of bread and coffee after which they are required on a roster basis to help clean the Shelter. They leave the Shelter for the day to further their efforts to find employment or to find the admission fee in some way.

The Shelter is not open during the day. The social worker will see each client at the beginning of their stay, then as required by appointment during the day.
